AfriFest Cincy: Taste of Africa
PRESENTS
African Couture:
Timeless Splendour Woven Through Tradition
Saturday, July 29 | Burnet Woods Bandstand | 3298 Clifton Avenue
AFRICA!
Africa's vast and diverse landscape encompasses numerous countries, cultures, tribes, traditions, values, and religions. These unique distinctions are often beautifully represented through our clothing, with each attire narrating a story of our origins, backgrounds, and affiliations.
Our attire conveys the countries and tribes we belong to and marks the events we attend, such as weddings and funerals. THIS is where African Couture, the fashion show, draws inspiration.
African Couture: Timeless Splendour Woven Through Tradition will take you on a vibrant journey of African fashion, showcasing the richness and beauty of AFRICA'S COLLECTIVE cultural heritage
call for entries
We are seeking entries from African fashion designers and fashion enthusiasts who embody the essence of African couture, showcasing the diversity and richness of African fashion.
The competition welcomes everyone. Contestants will model their attire on the event day and briefly explain the cultural, tribal, or national significance of their chosen garments.
Attire will be judged by the audience, with instructions to judge on presentation, artistry, and the educational value of the participant's explanation.
The winning Cultural Attire will receive a trophy and other exciting prizes.
